HILLCRESTON PARK achieves RECORD 9 x 1PP bales & a RECORD PRICE

This week Danny & Megan Picker together with son David and parents Trevor & Janet Picker presented their ultra-fine clip to the international wool trade in the Australian Wool Network catalogue. Prior to sale the clip was inspected by a panel of expert wool buyers who judged that the 9 top bales of the clip should all receive the highest accolades that the wool industry can bestow.

Northern Seasonal Record Price.

As a result of this accreditation and the excellent qualities of the clip the Pickers achieved a Northern Seasonal Record Price of 61,500 cents per kilogram for the top bale. The bale tested 12.5 micron, 73mm long and 46NKT. Mr Don Belgre representing the buyer, G Schneider Aust who purchased the bale on behalf of their client Loro Piana & Co. spa., commented ‘that the line up of wool was among the best he had ever seen’. Competition on the clip was very spirited with at least 5 major superfine buyers competing strongly for each bale.

1PP accreditation is judged on the measured parameters of the wool and importantly, on the physical characteristics of style, colour and bloom, evenness of the measured characteristics and also the clip preparation. In the case of HILLCRESTON PARK/BIGGA clip the wool measured from 12.5 micron to 15.3. On average the greasy length was around 70 to 75mm and importantly the tensile strength is between 39 and 50 NKT. This is truly a magnificent result and demonstrates the commitment to excellence of sheep breeding and wool production that the Picker Family have carried out for generations.
